My attention has been drawn to a report in the Social Media which says the Chairman, Central Zone of IYC Barr. Tare Porri in a radio Bayelsa phone-in-programme Monday 28th August 2017, said investigations carried out by the Council proves that the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (Local Content) operates their branch offices in Lagos & Abuja in a manner calculated at undermining the Headquarters.
Although I am neither a staff nor spokesman for the NCDMB and notwithstanding the fact that I am very much interested in the investigation that allegedly produced the alleged revelation, I want to state for the records and the avoidance of doubt, that contrary to Mr Tare Pori’s claim, the Nigeria Content Development and Content Development Board (NCDMB) does not have or operate any office in Lagos.
True it has a liaison office in the Federal Capital Territory for administrative convenience as is expected of all major Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, that is not in anyway contrary to Section 71 of the NIGERIAN OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY CONTENT DEVELOPMENT ACT 2010 Act No. 2. Thus contrary to what the learned Opuowei Daniel Zitimiyola opined the Board could not have violated section 71 or 72 of its enabling Act.
Finally for the sake of clarity below are the addresses of all the offices of the Board.
